DESEXING AND MICROCHIPS

Desexing

Dalmation
We recommend desexing of both female and male dogs and cats. There is no advantage in bitches or queens having a litter before desexing, or waiting until after their first season.

AT WHAT AGE SHOULD YOU HAVE YOUR ANIMAL DESEXED?
– 5 to 8 months for male and female dogs and cats.

Desexing does not make an animal fat. Over feeding and lack of exercise does that.

Microchips

The R.S.P.C.A., pounds and most vet clinics have microchip scanners. This is an ideal way to find the owner of a stray animal. The microchip is implanted by needle, under the skin between the shoulder blades. This can be done at any age and only takes a few minutes during consultation. A form is then sent to Central Animal Records with all your details (remember to inform them if any of your details change). These details are accessible throughout Australia.

For any queries about our surgery or services please call in or give us a call ph. 3264 1222.
